6時30分、成田空港ZIPAIRカウンターに並んでいます。今日からフィリピンの英会話学校に3週間、その後バンコクとハノイでフラフラして6週間後に帰国します。
It's 6:30 and I'm standing in line at the ZIPAIR counter at Narita Airport. Starting today, I'll be at an English conversation school in the Philippines for three weeks, then wander around in Bangkok and Hanoi before returning home in six weeks.
制限区域に入ったら、KALラウンジで朝食。これが旅の楽しみの一つ。
Once in the restricted area, I had breakfast at the KAL lounge. This is one of the pleasures of traveling.
ラウンジで朝ビール、7時30分からビールかよ！とは思うけど、これも旅の一部と自分に言い訳して、頂きます❣️。
Morning beer in the lounge, beer at 7:30am? I guess, but I'll take it, telling myself that it's part of the trip❣️.
このラウンジ、アルコールは充実していますが、食事はおにぎりとカップラーメンくらいで、ショボいです。その代わりに景色が良いのが取り柄ですね。
This lounge has a good selection of alcohol, but the food is meager, consisting only of rice balls and cup noodles. The view is nice instead.
マニラから車で1時間、明日から3週間お世話になる英会話学校、English Breakthroughに Grabでたどり着きました。HPの写真からの私の勝手な想像より、かなりボロイ。断トツに費用が安い理由に納得。フィリピンらしい、と解釈してエンジョイします。
I arrived at an English conversation school , English Breakthrough, by Grab one hour's drive from Manila, where I will be staying for three weeks starting tomorrow. It's a lot more shabby than I imagined from the pictures on the website. I was convinced why the school is by far the least expensive in the country. I will enjoy it as it is typical of the Philippines.
個室、もう少し広い部屋をリクエストしたのですが空きが無かったので、最初の２泊はこの狭い部屋です。明後日、部屋移動します。寝るだけなので、この部屋でも問題は無いけどね。
I requested a private room, a bit larger, but there were no vacancies, so I will be in this small room for the first two nights. The day after tomorrow, I will move to a different room. I'm only going to sleep, so this room is fine.
食堂、写真より実物は、もっとショボいです。食事する、と言う機能は全く問題有りませんが。
まあ、こんな環境で3週間、英語を学んでいきます。
The dining room looks even shabbier than in the picture, though it is perfectly functional for eating. Well, I will learn English in such an environment for 3 weeks.
